Project Title: Scaling Personalized Orders at Loop

Loop Earplugs

Details
Project Title Scaling Personalized Orders at Loop
Project Topics Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain
Skills & Expertise
Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
Loop Earplugs currently offers very limited personalization, restricted to engraving carry cases in our US and Belgium facilities. Yet, personalization is becoming an important driver of customer engagement and brand differentiation across consumer products. Competitors in adjacent industries (eyewear, jewelry, tech accessories) increasingly use customization to add value, increase margins, and strengthen brand loyalty.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
  1. Explore personalization opportunities across products, packaging, and customer experience, identifying both quick wins and long-term options.
  2. Research industry benchmarks and trends in personalization from competitors and adjacent markets.
  3. Evaluate financial implications by considering costs, pricing strategies, and potential revenue uplift.
  4. Assess operational feasibility including supply chain impact, global rollout challenges, and technological requirements.
  5. The students will also create deliverables, including reports and presentations, to communicate their findings and recommendations effectively.
  6. These activities will encourage critical thinking, teamwork, and practical application of supply chain concepts.
Project Synopsis: Expected Results
Expected outcomes from this project include a comprehensive overview of potential personalization opportunities for Loop’s products, a cost–benefit analysis of the most promising options, and clear recommendations on which personalization initiatives to prioritize. Deliverables should also outline an implementation roadmap with regional considerations, operational feasibility, and pricing strategies to support global rollout.

Learning outcomes for students will include developing skills in market research, financial modeling, and strategic decision-making, as well as gaining an understanding of how personalization can impact brand positioning and customer experience in a global context.

SMART goals include mapping competitor benchmarks and personalization options by the end of the first week, completing the cost–benefit and feasibility analysis by the second week, presenting preliminary strategic directions by the third week, and delivering the final comprehensive report and recommendations by the end of the project period.
