Loop Earplugs is a Belgian consumer health and lifestyle company redefining what earplugs can look, feel, and sound like. Founded in 2016 by childhood friends and engineers Maarten Bodewes and Dimitri O, Loop was born from a simple frustration: existing hearing protection was ugly, uncomfortable, and ineffective. With 1 in 4 adults suffering from hearing damage, the founders saw a massive unmet need — and set out to build something better. 

Loop's flagship products are reusable, designer earplugs that filter and reduce noise rather than blocking it entirely, preserving sound clarity while protecting hearing. Designed to look like jewelry — featuring the brand's signature circular "loop" shape — they come in a wide range of colors, finishes, and styles. Product lines include Loop Experience (concerts and live music), Loop Quiet (sleep, focus, and travel), Loop Engage (parenting and social settings), Loop Switch (adjustable noise settings), and Loop Kids (ages 6–12). 

Loop launched in retail through chains like CVS (USA) and Saturn (Europe) in 2018, but pivoted to a direct-to-consumer model during COVID-19 — a move that transformed the company. By marketing earplugs for everyday use cases (sleep, work, focus, sensory sensitivity, parenting), Loop rapidly expanded its audience. Revenue grew from €1M in 2020 to €42M in 2022, €126.5M in 2023, and €190M in 2024. The company has sold over 14 million sets of earplugs to date and serves customers across 6 continents. 

Headquartered in Antwerp with hubs in Amsterdam, New York, and Shanghai, Loop now employs over 250 people globally. The company has been named one of Fast Company's World's 50 Most Innovative Companies (2024, #18 overall and #1 in Design), Belgium's fastest-growing tech company by the Deloitte Fast 50, and a LinkedIn Top Start-Up. In late 2025, Loop expanded into physical retail with a launch in 600 Target stores across the United States and became Coachella's first-ever official earplug partner. 

Loop is building a new category — "earwear" — with ambitions to move into the smart hearables market and expand into senses beyond sound.
