Skills & Expertise
Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
CapSource.io is pioneering the way experiential learning is integrated into education by connecting academia and industry to enhance student outcomes. Our latest initiative, the Resource Center, is a content management system (CMS) designed to revolutionize the way educators enhance student learning experiences. This platform empowers educators to provide supplemental content that enriches career readiness, promotes mentorship, and maximizes project-based learning.

We seek to engage students in the University of Montana Project Management course to help ideate and prioritize product features for this platform. By participating, students will gain firsthand experience in project and product management, learning how to balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals to create impactful solutions.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
User Research:

  • Conduct research to identify the needs and preferences of educators and students using a content management system.
  • Analyze how supplemental educational resources can drive engagement and enhance outcomes.
Feature Ideation:

  • Brainstorm potential features that will improve the Resource Center's usability, engagement, and effectiveness.
  • Focus on creating community-driven features like discussion boards, user-generated content sharing, and mentorship tools.
Prioritization:

  • Use frameworks such as the MoSCoW method or a Value vs. Effort matrix to prioritize features based on their potential impact and implementation complexity.
Prototyping and Presentation:

  • Develop a conceptual prototype or feature wireframes for the Resource Center.
  • Create a detailed product proposal that includes recommendations, user stories, and an implementation roadmap.
Project Synopsis: Expected Results
Relevance: Proposed features align with the goals of enhancing career readiness, mentorship, and community engagement.
Innovation: Recommendations include creative and innovative approaches to maximize user engagement.
Feasibility: Proposed features balance technical feasibility, resource constraints, and business objectives.
User Focus: Solutions are grounded in real-world needs as identified through research and analysis.
