In this project, we are working to address healthcare disparities making it more difficult for individuals and couples in the LGBTQ+ community to build their families. Within this space, Men Having Babies has been working on fertility equity through insurance mandates, employee advocacy for better benefits at work, and improved data around infertility. 

Activities and action items that may be valuable in improving fertility equity include advocacy campaigns directed at legislators currently considering infertility mandates, data collection around LGBTQ+ family-building and infertility, and educational materials for employee advocacy at work. 

Measurable results for this project may include the number of pieces of testimony in favor of a bill passage in Minnesota, California, or New York; changes in costs of infertility treatment in areas with IVF mandates compared to those without; estimates of the rate of infertility; estimates of individuals impacted by passage of inclusive infertility mandates.
