Rank the Vote

Details
Project Title Stakeholder Research & Education - Ranked Choice Voting
Project Topics Research & Development
Skills & Expertise
Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity
Rank the Vote seeks to overcome legislative gridlock, political polarization, and negativity by advocating for Ranked Choice Voting systems. Ranked Choice Voting gives a strong voice to all voters, and ensures candidates with the broadest support get to govern. It is a simple change that gives voters the option to rank candidates for office in the order they prefer them: 1, 2, 3.

We would like to engage in a project to understand the most effective ways to educate and get buy in from city councilors/ mayors/ officials, community organizations, and other municipal stakeholders on the benefits of proportional representation (with multi-member districts).
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
  • Research/literature review
  • Informational interviews
  • Build of evidence-based strategy recommendations
Project Synopsis: Expected Results
We would like to see an evidence-based, action-oriented strategy to educating each audience( (city councilors/mayors/officials, community organizations, and other municipal stakeholders). If time permits, initial testing of these approaches would be an additional benefit.
