The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a professional accounting body in India that regulates and governs the chartered accountancy profession in the country. It was established under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, enacted by the Parliament of India. ICAI is the second largest professional accounting body in the world in terms of membership.
